History
Report
After moving to Twickenham, Albert Edward Rumsey and his staff grew the business to include removals as they were frequently called upon to transport sofas, chairs and general furniture. Demand for removals grew rapidly and Rumsey eventually moved the focus of the business to removals and storage. In those early days the first company vehicle was a humble 'coster' barrow used to transport items of furniture from the shop through the streets of London.

Services
Report
The Working Department trades as International Removers and Hauliers and operates out of Aberdeen and Richmond upon Thames, with a combined fleet of 30 lorries and vans. The Shore Porters' Society began as a group of porters, or 'Pynours' who worked at Aberdeen Harbour and formed, for their mutual protection, one of the oldest co-operatives in existence, dating back to 1498.
Fleet
Report
We place significant investment in our fleet of removal vehicles; the instantly recognisable blue, red and white livery has become our mark of quality. Moving on from the days of a "coster" barrow as our main form of transportation, our vehicles have low emission levels to improve air quality and are therefore exempt from the London Emission Zone charge. Every vehicle is fitted with air-ride suspension to ensure a smooth journey and has a bespoke body built to our exact specification.
