It was originally set up to carry out furniture deliveries for several local retailers including Allders Department Stores. In 1989 Ian Siddle (The current MD) joined the company from Allders where he worked in the transport department. The knowledge gained by delivering large furniture items and domestic appliances gave Arnold & Self the experience it needed to operate in the removals market. Over the years the business was developed by adding furniture storage, archive storage, commercial and International Removals.

A&S provided an excellent removal service for us. We were impressed by the attention to detail in the preparation; both in visits to the 2 properties well beforehand, & on packing day. On move days (complicated due to a hoist & large items) the team were hard-working, reliable, friendly. However, after the move a couple of issues arose. When we contacted the MD to "complain", the speed & manner with which these issues were resolved was fantastic. No move is perfect & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend A&S. I believe that the way a company deals with problems says a great deal. Will use again!

I would like to express my thanks to Arnold & Self, for how they managed our storage and eventual move in lockdown. The survey was carried out with full awareness of social distancing - thank you Mark. The office staff, particularly Debbie & Emma who coordinated the move & storage despite their own logistical problems. The removal team who took our items to storage.
But particularly Dennis, Gerald & Sash who moved us in lockdown and were very careful to follow covid guidelines which really reassured us. I cannot recommend Arnold highly enough - very professional - thank you

I booked Arnold & Self to do a packing and removal job on the 17 & 18 January 2020. Two guys arrived very punctually on the Friday to do the packing which went very well which included taking apart some of our furniture. On the Saturday a team came back to move us from South West to South East London. They were very efficient, polite and I really liked that they reassembled the furniture and that they came back to collect the moving boxes once we had finished with them. Not a single breakage too. Recommended.

Used the team for our recent move who were excellent from start to finish. Fair price, quick move out, slower move in due to some very tricky access at our new property but they navigated this and called for further team members to support with no extra charge. Very supportive to make the necessary arrangements beforehand, every interaction was positive. Will be using them for some bits that need bringing out of storage. Great team, thank you for all your help.

I can't thank this company enough for making a long and tiring move so much easier with there forethought and planning it was as smooth as could be. Everyone from Ian, Debbie, and the guys who loaded Mike, Callum, and Sacha were great and in Cornwall Mike and Callum got me unloaded the same day so didn't have to come back the next day, I can't recommend them enough 5 stars for sure

I would like to say a massive thank you to Arnold and Self for supporting and sponsoring my Magic Sunflower Competition again. Not only did they sponsor the event again they managed to get a lot of other businesses involved in supporting the event.
