Review of TigersRemovals, East Riding of Yorkshire
I would not recommend this removal company if it was the last one on earth. My whole moving experience was wrecked completely as a result of this company!
I booked for my move last week for a specified time, half an hour past this time i get a phone call to say they were stuck on a job some 20 miles away and was going to be another 60-90 mins. The van eventualy turned up 3.5hours later, (i actually informed the company owner (Chris) that i had a large 2 bed bungalow + garage) the van that turned up was not even big enough to take half that! So had to make 2 runs. I offered to complete an inventory so the company knew what they were up against but was denied this, i would of thought a proffessional outfit would want this for planning! The new owners of my bungalow (where incidently my possessions were at that point stored) had turned up to find their new house empty but instead found me standing there full of my furniture. It came with no suprise that they were not very pleased! The removal van only turned up with 2 guys, i expected 3-4 for a swift job as promised by Chris!! But no. They filled the poor excuse for a van and explained that they would have to make a 2nd run! By now the new owners were parked outside spitting feathers. By the time the removal van turned back up it was now 5.30pm, by this time the new owners had ejected wath was left of my white goods and expensive oak bed onto the front lawn in torrential rain! Some £2000 worth. Quite rightly they had waited some 8hours to unload their furniture. By the time i walked into my new house the whole episode took 8hours to move my house some 15miles!
Then during the unpacking stage some 48hrs later i find that my wifes two strong wooden boxes containing over £2000 worth of collectable ornaments had been dropped smashing all contained. Also my fridge had new dents, scratches and chips that weren't there before. I contacted the forever helpful Chris (owner) to inform him of this and to claim from the insurance that was used in the initial sales statement (Fully insured) only to find that Chris was now unhelpful! Chris would not accept that any of his staff would have an accident of this nature as they would honestly own up to it. Chris went on to claim that i did it myself and that 24-48hrs is too late to claim. Chris also went onto say that he had a large excess to pay if i did, so point blank refused to give me insurance details, and that if you pay for a cheap job then you get a cheap job, then hung up the phone. The position is that i am in the process of starting court proceedings to claim for the damages.
My advice, use this company if you wish to have your possessions damaged with no come back, none reliable, a company out of its depth in a proffessional business with false promises and no comeback once they have your money.

I would only recommend this company to a friend of a friend that I did not like - in fact, even after all their awful service, when they offered to move us again for free, I wouldn't offer my friend their 'free' job in fear of how much damage they would cause.
From start to finish they were the most disorganised, useless, rude people I have ever dealt with - and for actually being able to do what they quoted - useless, I could have done it better myself and saved myself the money.
To their credit, they did quote cheaper than anyone else, but still promised an A1 service, unfortunately as it turned out "half the price - half the job".
Let me list everything that went wrong:
- Quoted for 2 vans, only 1 turned up, after this one was full was told 2nd no longer coming, that they would have to do 2 runs which made the move take twice as long.
- 1st Van not fully loaded, 2nd van had half their own stuff in and subsequently they could not fit everything in and complete the move. (I had to borrow an estate car to get the remainder the next day)
- Damaged stairs/banister moving furniture down (2 men) lifting items of furniture I had managed to lift from the 2nd floor to the 1st myself without any damage.
- Damage to walls
- Mud on carpets
- Nearly every item of furniture was damaged from small scratches to large dents, scrapes, chips and marks - some items completely broken, mirrors smashed, pictures damaged.
- Staff were very rude and derogatory towards my Fiancée
- staff used our electricity (after we had taken final meter readings) to browse the internet on their laptop instead of working.
- Left excrement in the toilet without flushing.
- Getting my fiance to lift and load so that they could phone and chat to 'mates'.
- Moaned to me about poor wages
- The boss was on holiday, his son was running the show that day who had no idea what was going on and diminished responsibility until his dad returned from cruise holiday.
- Upon return the boss apologised profusely, offered compensation and expressed that his son should never have been left to run the business.
- Compensation was going to be taken from staffs wages according to Chris the boss - staff then striked so Chris decided not to send the compensation. When confronted I was assured it was in the post, and eventually Chris told me he hadn't sent it and had had a change of heart.
- Chris then got extremely verbally abusive, calling me and my fiancée names including a 'darlick' for some bizarre reason.
- Chris said that he couldn't even afford to refund me £50 - which strikes me as odd seen as he has just been on a holiday.
- Chris hung up on calls, and now refuses to take our calls.
So in summary, if you would like to destroy half of your furniture, and damage the house as you move leaving it 'ready' for the new tenants/owners to move in, and want the job to take you twice as long as it should, with 10 times the stress then I would strongly recommend you book Tigers Removals in Hull.

I would like to say a big thank to Elephant Removals.
Their team was very polite, expertly trained, skilful individuals.
They have moved us 3 times in 4 years 6 months!
They came highly recommended by friends and lived up to their reputation. I was having a difficult time trying search for a reliable moving company.
Their packing was excellent and this took away immense deal of pressure. They worked very hard, none stop, dismantled many of our furniture including a big triple wardrobe, unplumbed the washing machine, and hoisted the sofa through the window.
Here is a tip! Just keep them supplied with tea, biscuits and energy drinks regularly and you will not be disappointed.
I've thanked my friends for the recommendation, all our possessions were well looked after and we have no hesitation in recommending their moving and storage services to anyone looking for an excellent removals company. A Superb professional service.

Having moved house several times over the last few years I know the process can be very stressful. I found the removal group to be very competitive pricewise and by assigning me a personal move coordinator it was easy to organise. The communication, before, during and after the move were excellent and I was particularly impressed with the follow-up calls on the day of the shipment ariiving at the destination to ensure all was well.

This company are a nightmare. They turned up late, without enough vans or staff and the day went downhill from there. One van broke down (they were only moving us 12 miles) they other went missing, they actually went for lunch which is more than reasonable but they didnt tell us and my husband was waiting at the new house and was starting to panic.
At the new house boxes were dumped anywhere, it didnt matter what was written on them. Boxes with fragile on were stacked under heavy boxes of books, part of an antique table was found by my husband on the bin outside, parts of my American fridge freezer were scattered in the garden, garden spades, rakes etc were thrown on my sofa. My sofa was ripped in three places and my fridge scratched all over. They did over £2600 worth of damage. The company owner would not provide us with their insurance details until we had paid in full for the 'service' we had had. Their insurance company have paid up BUT BEWARE Bennion are responsible for £250 excess and the VAT on any claim. They owe us almost £650 and will not pay despite numerous letters. We have told them we will take court action against them and were told by the ownwer of the company to do that because we wouldn't get any money from them. Court it is then !!!
